Concrete Durability Assessment

Half Cell Corrosion Potential Test (ASTM C876-2022b)

To provide a guide on the corrosion level of reinforcing steel in the concrete structure.

Usually paired with Concrete Resistivity test for better comparison of results.

  • Uses latest technology and device, readings of rebound number can be taken straight from the device.

  • Proper surface preparation is done to ensure accurate and quality results.

Concrete Durability Assessment

Concrete Resistivity Test

To provide an estimate on the likelihood of corrosion of reinforcing steel in the concrete structure.

Usually paired with Half Cell Corrosion Potential test for better comparison of results.

  • Corrosion requires a flow of ions between anodic and cathodic sites on the reinforcement of concrete.

  • Resistivity measures the rate of this flow of ions and therefore directly measures the rate of concrete corrosion.

  • Non-destructive method with minimal preparation required.

Concrete Durability Assessment

Carbonation Test (BS EN 14630-2006)

To test for availability of calcium carbonates in concrete.

  • Carbonation occurs when carbon dioxide from the air penetrates the concrete & reacts with calcium hydroxide to from calcium carbonates. This compound will increase the likelihood of corrosion in reinforcing steel in concrete.

  • Proper surface preparation is done to ensure accurate and quality results.
